Feel well again

About Caiti Buck

Why I chose acupuncture

I have attended a Qi Gong class regularly over 15 years. I found it restorative and relaxing during a busy period in my life and it led to an interest in Chinese Medicine.

I eventually went on to study acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading. I left with a BSc(Hons) Acupuncture and Licentiate in Acupuncture (Lic.Ac). Since graduating I have set up practice in Salisbury and Blandford, Dorset.

Being an acupuncturist keeps me engaged because it isn’t a one size fits all. You are all individuals and I have to keep enquiring and working with people to know they are getting the best treatment they can.  It is fantastic to see people feeling better again.

My qualification has allowed me to be a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and I am committed to their professional codes for conduct, safe practice and continuing professional development.

Before acupuncture

I have worked with people of all ages and backgrounds in a variety of different settings all my working life. The what, when and where has changed over the years as my children have grown.

I have spent a considerable time working with teenagers, mainly in the community as an employment advisor and later a youth worker.

In my experience of working with teenagers and being an acupuncturist I believe that acupuncture can have a real impact on the well-being of teenagers.

And now

I currently divide my working week between acupuncture and a job as a health trainer with the local council where I work with people looking to make a lifestyle change. As a health trainer I work with the idea that most people know what is they have to do to improve their health.

Through goal setting and encouragement I work with my clients to take the first small steps to reach the targets they have set themselves. The skills I have developed in this role have enhanced my acupuncture practice.

Anything else

In case you are wondering I enjoy walking – anywhere but especially by the sea or in the woods. I love spending time with friends for a coffee or a longer catch up. I like watching a good film or a boxset. I also love dancing but it only seems to be in my kitchen now!

If you feel you would benefit from acupuncture with me or have any other questions, please contact me.
